The Old Time Music Hour broadcasting on WSOV.org 101.7 FM in Millheim PA and WXPIRADIO.org 88.5 FM in Williamsport PA is a weekly program dedicated to providing listener’s the finest traditional and progressive Appalachian old-time music. The program is hosted by Bill Smedley from Jersey Shore Pa.

Fiddle Tunes of the Old Frontier: The Henry Reed Collection presents traditional fiddle tunes performed by Henry Reed of Glen Lyn, Virginia. Recorded by folklorist Alan Jabbour in 1966-67, when Reed was over eighty years old, the tunes represent the music and evoke the history and spirit of Virginia’s Appalachian frontier.
The American Folklife Center was created in 1976 by the U.S. Congress to “preserve and present” the great heritage of American folklife through programs of research, documentation, archival preservation, reference service, live performance, exhibition, publication, and training.

Berea’s non-commercial audio and video collections document Appalachian history and culture, and the history of Berea College. They are especially strong in the areas of traditional music, religious expression, spoken lore, radio programs, oral history, and College events and personalities. These collections include field recordings from homes and churches, local and regional folk festivals, student performances, presentations of notable scholars, preachers, and social activists who have visited Berea.
Established in 1973, The Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College facilitates cultural education through immersive and experiential workshops in music, craft, dance, foodways, and folklore. Augusta’s dances, concerts, festivals, film screenings, cultural sessions, and other public events connect communities of learners and enthusiasts with master artists and culture-bearers year-round.
The Swannanoa Gathering is an educational program consisting of a series of week-long workshops in various folk arts held in July and August on the campus of Warren Wilson College just east of Asheville in the heart of North Carolina’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
